  3. What is the Hines/Lewis about? Not sure I understand that.

    • Lewis Wickes Hine (September 26, 1874 – November 3, 1940) was an American sociologist and photographer. Hine used his camera as a tool for social reform.   4. Incredible photos - I can certainly see how they must have impacted “Powers that be” in Congress - and thanks too for the explanation re. Mr. Hine. Great website too! I just happened upon it while looking for vintage “industrial” photos. Impressive work!

  7. The Alachua County Labor Coalition (ACLC) would like to use these images as postcards for to thank new member for their support? I’m thinking it’s okay since they are in the public domain but wanted to get written permission if possible. Is this permitted?
